For this new episode of BookBanter, I had the chance to talk with graphic artist and writer Josh Neufeld. Neufeld has penned such comics as Keyhole with Dan Haspiel and The Vagabonds; with A Few Perfect Hours (and Other Stories From Southeast Asia & Central Europe) he was awarded a Xeric Foundation grant. Neufeld began the genesis for his latest project when he worked for the Red Cross after the catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina, resulting in the brilliant AD New Orleans: After the Deluge which will be released on August 18th. The book tells the incredible story of six people who experienced Hurricane Katrina on a very physical and personal level. Neufeld also talks about how he got into comics with Harvey Pekar and American Splendor, as well as his whole creation process.
