After 26 years of(sometime) stupidity, venality and bureaucracy, I finally decided last week that I could no longer work for corporate America. I resigned, they paid me my notice without my working it out, and I am now a free agent.
I'm now going to make my living doing something I love, something I have done in my off-time over the past few years - poetry mentoring and critique. I've already built my website, and I will be (hopefully!) taking on additional students over the coming weeks and months.
This is the most exciting, ballsy thing I've done since I made my last career-change 26 years ago - and I am almost ecstatic about the fact that I will never again have to "go ahead and fill out my TPS reports."
I was a free man in Paris
I felt unfettered and alive...
My new website is here: http://alexgrant.webs.com/

Good for you! Goethe said
Good for you! Goethe said something about the wings of Providence supporting you as soon as you take the leap. Best of luck to you!
Yes, indeed, good luck, Alex!
Can only reiterate Katherine.
Corporate America or corporate anything is bad karma for the world since there is a price on the unvaluable, even human life. Only look where we're headed.
You can't stop the world and get off, but at least you can contrive ways to pursue your own destiny and assist others.
With courage and conviction, I feel sure it will work out.
All best,
Rosy
