Alex Fraser's Blog
Apr.15.2012
Somehow yesterday's blog did not post, and so, we shall just say this, the basis of what that blog was:
In memory of those who went down on the Titanic, and all the millions of Westerners who have died needlessly for pride and foolishness in wars and other catastrophes since:

Cold after the storm. Rare thunder and lightning in the Bay Area. Funny, coming from the Midwest, I remember the dynamic, assertive crashes of the the thunder. Thunder here, once every couple of years, but more lately, is rolling, more like an empty boiler being dumped over....

Woke a little after ten, short of breath, dry of mouth. My right leg is fine now, but the left leg is still swollen and slightly red. My appointment at 2200 O'Farrell for a sonogram of my heart was scheduled for 1:20 p.m.
Son Guy helped me take off my pressure...

Clearing but more rain coming.
I woke a bit past nine, munched on my banana, took my pills and food supplements, had my lung medicines. My breathing was restricted this morning, and my leg, though less swollen, was sore. After rising, discovered that Buddy was among us. He's a a...

Rainy day.
I woke at 9 p.m., had my banana, pills & vitamins, my lung medicine. My left leg is a bit better today. Worked on the computer until about 2 p.m., settled down for my knap, but was immediately awakened by the arrival of Bud E. Pup, who climbed all over my face. I...

The rain held off the Easter Parades here, and the weather was quite pleasant.
All of my brood were on their feet for the occasion, but each was suffering from his own ill. Among my immediate group, Son Guy was struggling out of a cold and his bronchitis. Son Jason was...

The weather warmed, as if in anticipation of rain, and then, the coming of Easter. [That gets those pathetic fallacies out of the way!]
My leg looked a little better this morning, and Son Guy's cold appeared to be abating somewhat.
The stagger over to the computer...

Rain coming on the morrow.
I slept well, but my left leg remains swollen and sore. [Thumped it getting into a cab, which didn't help it much!] Son Guy was very helpful to me despite his now heavy cold.
Kaiser called to schedule the EKG that the my primary care physician...

Nothing, Nothing, Nothing. I woke warm, feeling quite well, but with no desire to write.
Eventually, I did catch up with some email, etc.
Then, it was off for a meeting with my Primary Care Doctor at Kaiser, my records clutched in my hand. Nurse Isabella greeted me, and...

All day in hospital, night, too, after my Fall. Sleep interrupted constantly for tests.
I found San Francisco General, where my friend Noelle Noel was smart enough and kind enough to send me, was excellent. Two or three teams of doctors, and two smart, funny nurses, Meghan and...

April did not begin well for me and quickly got worse.
Took a Fall.
Macresarf1 did not write this day.

The day was fairly warm in Downtown San Francisco, but not so warm as predicted; it was perhaps in the low 60's. Sunny though.
Buddy E. Pup appeared briefly, but was gone soon with Son Guy, who went out and got a haircut. Something going on there, possibly.
Son Jason...

Through events beyond my control, April 1, 2012 did not occur -- at least, not in the Red Room.
Macresarf1 would write no more THAT day.

Windy, rainy, high surf. Trees fell around the SF Bay Area, and a light pole was blown over Downtown.
In another twenty minutes, we shall have come 91 1/4 days into the Apocalyptic Year of 2012. We are a quarter of the way into the Year. If one believes in the Mayan...
