Feeling wonderful today. Rain ended before noon, and the day was sunny and warmer. I feel great!
Son Jason came by in the early afternoon. We played for him a wonderful "video essay" on the subject of MAD MEN. Jason has never gotten into the convoluted magic of that series. We think we piqued his interest with this wonderful piece by Serena Bramble.
If you do not know her work, here is a URL for her total collection. In addition to her work with MAD MEN, she also has half a dozen other creations. I particularly recommend her stuff on Film Noir and The Archers:
I got around to watching the last episode of LUCK. Frankly, despite a stellar cast and lots of atmosphere, I doubt the series ever came together -- just too scattered. And much as one likes to watch beautiful horses racing, the series was not worth the death of three animals. What is surprising is that neither Producer Dustin Hoffman, Creator David Milch, nor Executive Producer Michael Mann, in this day and age, could not see trouble coming with "cruelty to animals." I suspect that HBO had already told them that the show was not holding its viewers. Perhaps, the cancellation was a graceful exit.
Not to be down on "luck," Guy has just told me of an upcoming STARZ mini-series about gambling with Danny Huston, no less. It may appeal to Guy's former experience.
Macresarf1 would write no more this day.
