Busy day, today. Rain Showers.
The Lady and Bud E. Pup with us for a second day, though the Lady was gone most of the day with Buddy.
I watched one of my favorite movies, Jules Dassin's NIGHT AND THE CITY, this early evening. Having served in England and spent many an enjoyable weekend in London during the early 1950's, the film brings back interesting and nostalgic memories. My pass and leave time was spend mainly in the theater, ballet, and restaurants, the few times I went clubbing were much like the experiences that Americans must have had at "The Silver Fox." Our spot was called "The Torch Room," and even if the place was pleasant enough, it was sort of a clip joint. Richard Widmark turns in one of the great Dassin chase performances.
You may read my full review of NIGHT AND THE CITY here among my Red Room articles. I fancy the review one of my better ones.
Now, having fortified myself with peanut butter on toast, sliced tomato on a bed of lettuce, and an orange, I'm going to watch the two hour season premiere of MAD MEN!
Macresarf1 would write no more this day.
