Day 24: Macresarf1's Year of the Apocalypse 2012

 Son Jason came up this evening to visit Son Guy, and we  watched  President Obama's "State of the Union Speech" to the Congress.  We agreed that the speech was one of his best.  He showed more passion than he has in the past, and many of the points he made were good ones.  Almost everyone (except Ranking Member, Senator Mitch McConnell) applauded, even stood up, at some point in the address.  But the fact is that the Republicans and some of the Democrats would rather watch the Country go to Hell rather than cut into the profits of Wall Street and the Corporatist interests.

  Meanwhile, an analysis of last night's NBC Debate with Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul showed that former Governor Romney misrepresented both the President and former Speaker Gingrich.  Contrary to Romney's charges, the President concluded farreaching trade agreements with South Korea, China, and other countries in the last year.  Romney's claim that Gingrich had resigned his Speakership in disgrace was also bogus (though he has plenty of other things to answer for.}

   I'm off for one of my peanut butter surprise suppers, and then, to bed.
