Day 163: Macresarf1's Year of the Apocalypse 2012 -- Season Finale for MAD MEN.

The day warmed up, and I was at the machine before noon.

Son Jason came to visit while I was taking a quick nap.

Later in the day, Son Guy helped me tidy some things up.

In the early evening, I watched one of my favorite movies, a sleeper, entitled 2 DAYS IN THE VALLEY, written and directed by John Herzfeld, with an outstanding cast:  Teri Hatcher, James Spader, Danny Aiello, Glenn Headly, Charlize Theron, Marsha Mason, Lawrence Tierney, and several more.  It is beautifully shot, edited, scored, acted, and directed.  I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it.

Later, I watched the penultimate Season episode of THE BORGIAS, in which Savonarola was brought low, and Caesare Borgia did in his younger brother.

Later still, I took in the Season Finale of MAD MEN, and what a finale it was, as several of the drama's principals descended into a hell of their own making.  For Don Draper, of course, it has been a long descent.  This episode was interrupted several times by a plea from AMC to contact DISH because of plans to drop AMC and several other quality channels from their roster.  I have indeed contacted them, and if they go ahead with their plan, we shall have to look into switching to Direct-TV.  What folly on DISH's part!

AMC, by the way, is playing every episode of BREAKING BAD at midnight in anticipation of the new season, beginning in July.

Another reason for getting rid of DISH if it goes through with the drop.

Macresarf1 would not write more this day.
