The day began late for me. I took care of my Emails, went through some hard back correspondence, and called Grace a little after two o'clock. It had been several weeks since we spoke with each other. We talked for nearly an hour. She couldn't remember what she did for Mother's Day, but Memorial Day (think I have this right), she, Gino, Arnd and Melinda went to late brunch at the Pacifica Golf Club. Unfortunately, everyone but Gino came down with mild food poisioning. My stories of bathroom repair were not much more edifying.
Son Jason came for a visit, and we all talked finances.
In the evening, I watched the news, and then, HATFIELDS AND MCCOYS on the History Channel. I hadn't thought of that bloody feud in years, but my youth was full of it, and I have an impression that it was still going on back then. The three part show was solemn and remindful of how foolish men can be. It was nice to see Powers Boothe as Judge Hatfield. He's an underused actor. But what a contrast with what my time was spent last night.
I f read the reviews for HEMINGWAY AND GELHORN. They ranged from "Masterpiece" to "A Real Mess." The truth as usual falls in between, I'm sure.
William also came to visit.
I'm going to have Peanut Butter Surprise, and go to bed.
Macresarf1 would write no more today.
