Day 138: Macresarf1's Year of the Apocalypse 2012 -- "And They Shall Have [Movie] Music!"!

The weather was cool and drizzly today.  The phone awakened me (AT&T doing a follow up survey on the wi-fi box purchase), and I was soon up and running.

The work today alternated with transferring some of my substantial CD Collection to the iMac.  Formerly, my use of the Mac's storage had been limited to music which attracted me on the internet, Oldtime Radio Shows, and Orson Welles' items.  Now, I begun to cull my very best and most loved from the CD Library of Movie Music: --e.g., Bernard Herrmann's scores for THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS, CITIZEN KANE, and VERTIGO; Max Steiner's TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE and THEY DIED WITH THEIR BOOTS ON; Jerry Goldsmith's found music for L.A. CONFIDENTIAL; Franz Waxman's SUNSET BOULEVARD, NIGHT AND THE CITY, and A PLACE IN THE SUN; Henry Mancini's TOUCH OF EVIL; Philip Sainton's MOBY DICK; Victor Young's SCARAMOUCHE; Miklos Roza's LUST FOR LIFE and THE KILLERS, etc.

Later, I shall work on my Jazz and more proper Classical selections.

The day was interrupted by a flow of calls, such as the guy who warns me of cyber attack and a political survey which eventually appeared to want me to vote for a couple propositions on the June Ballot.  Finally, there was a phone exchange on a cheque Grandma Bunty had sent to Laverza Azure.

   Son Jason paid a visit.

In the evening, one of the lads who helped Son Guy with his laptop paid a visit, and I watched the news on TV.

Time to go search out my peanut butter and salad makings.

Macresarf1 would write no more this day.
