The pleasant days continue. Having trouble with my memory.
I was up at 8 a.m. for a bathroom stop. While at it, the people upstairs began to take a thunderous shower. Immediately, there was our version of "agua de cielo," as water poured from the ceiling into the bathtub, and because our drain is broken after our falls, the water ran right onto the floor at the head of the tub. [One more thing which must be dealt with.]
After another nap, the work went fairly well until nearly seven o'clock. TRUTHDIG was full of interesting articles today. One dealt with a fairwell piece by Ernest Callenbach, who wrote an influential dystopian novel in the 1975 novel, Ecotopia, in which States of the Union seceded. Callenbach died recently at the age of 83. He left the following letter in his computer:
Son Guy woke in an agitated mood, concerned about fruit flies in the house. He began to spray insecticide around, which is not good for either of us.
The phone rang several times, but the battery was run down, and it was not until later that we realized that Laura Louise had called us.
Son Jason came up, and we had a chat.
I began watching I WANT TO LIVE, which Nellie McKay used as a vehicle for her recent nationwide tour, but interruptions eventually sent me to a little indie film, WIN WIN, with Paul Giamatti, Bobby Carnavale, Amy Madigan, and a super young actor named Alex Shaffer, who looks like Sean Penn when he was just starting out.
After eating I must get to bed, for who knows these days what the morrow will bring.
One thing, for sure, is that tomorrow is Granddaughter Laversa Azure Fraser's Birthday.
Macresarf1 will write no more this day.
