During this day, Macresarf1 began to gather his thoughts for a diary/journal covering what will no doubt be a crucial year in the life of his family and in the history of his nation. What would be left 350 days from now? The end of 2011 had been hard. Illness was abroad in his family. Finances were depleted. People from his past had died. He tried not to think about these events, but they weighed upon his mind and what he did. He was not well. The Occupy Movement was among the few positive developments of the Old Year. The New Year threatened to be apocalyptic. Somewhere he had read, 400 American families had much income as 150, 000, 000 of their fellow citizens.
America was in the worst shape it had been in his lifetime. The greed of the oligarchy, the weakness of our economy, the fecklessness of our lawmakers, the general confusion of our people, the incredible foolishness of our diplomatic and military missions abroad, all promised an unfortunate end to what had been a hopeful eve when he was born over 80 years ago.

Where had it all gone wrong? How had it all gone wrong?
Somewhere, someone was moaning.
"The charm's wound up." -- MACBETH, Act 1, scene 3.
Macresarf1 would write no more this day.
