where the writers are
30,000 words and counting.
NaNoWirMo 2008
Week one has come and gone, and the story is taking shape.  As it usually happens, the story ends up being something completely different than what you'd thought it would be in the beginning.  And that's just cool.  It means I'm along for the ride, even as the writer. Half the fun of writing the story ad-hoc is being there like the reader will be when the whole thing is completed.  Despite my story-maps and well planned outline, as i write the story, more and more ideas start coming yelling like kids in a car,
"Oh me.. me me... pick me.. put me in... " and when you do.. the other ideas go.. "Awwwwwe.. it was my turn," "Sheesh, I wanted to be there .. i would have been a good idea for that spot,"
"Nuh-uh.. i woulda been,"
"nuh-uh" 'Nuh-huh!" ME: "Ok.. don't make me stop this car!" This is my first year participating in NaNoWriMo and as I approach the 30,000 word milestone in less than two weeks, I'm asking myself why I hadn't done this earlier. Thursday evening, the Orleans Chapter of Wrimos will be getting together for an evening of write-in glory where some of those new ideas will make their appearences again - shouting out to me to be added to my story.  I'm looking forward to that, and hope to write a blog about t friday morning. Until then.. Happy Writing.
