where the writers are

Dear Friends,
Happy New Year!
I hope your holidays have been warm and relaxing, with plenty of good books to keep you company.
As we head into 2008, I wanted to send you a couple of updates. First, my book GAINING is now available in paperback, with an all-new reading group guide. Ask for it at your favorite bookstore, or order at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Gaining-Truth-About-Eating-Disorders/dp/0446694827...).
Second, a reminder that the fabulous anthology, FOR KEEPS: Women Tell the Truth About their Bodies, Growing Older, and Acceptance, is also available. Edited by Victoria Zackheim, this gem of a collection includes powerful essays by Abby Frucht, Ellen Sussman, Elizabeth Rosner, Caroline Leavitt, Susan Ito, and many others, including me! Please do check it out.
Also, I recently became a founding author of a great new website for readers and writers: redroom.com, the "online home of the world's greatest writers." On redroom.com, you can view my author bio, published works, blog, book reviews, videos, and podcasts, as well as find out more about good causes I support. In fact, once the site has paid advertising, just viewing my page will send a portion of the proceeds to these causes.
Thanks so much for your support.
Wishing you health, peace, and passion in 2008!

Fancy meeting you here.

Hey, Aimee.  Congratulations on all the wonderful things happening in your writing life.  I hope the translation of your father's letters in Chinese is going well.

I hate to tell you, but we lost our joint photo taken in 1994--the one in the coffee shop of the Capitola Book Cafe.  They removed it after remodeling.

Hi Aimee, thanks for the link to this page from your MySpace. I feel like this is my third discovery of you. Firstly in your wonderful book, THE best book I have read on Eating Disorders- Gaining, secondly from the online study Sarah did, which I was a part of and now here on this wonderful site. I look forward to exploring other authors. I am always looking for new books to read.

Best Wishes for 2008
