LDM TV: The Pilot is happening. It's really, really happening.
On December 12 at Florentine Gardens in Los Angeles. The heart of Hollywood! The most exciting part? The scale has gone from simple to massive. Looking at our original plan, it's like we didn't have a clue. Because, to tell you the truth, we didn't have a clue. But now? We get the biggest possible picture, and we are out to wow the planet.
One way our initial cluelessness was evident: money. When I made $10,000 our Kickstarter goal, I figured: that's a lot of money (it's so much money!), and we'll make it work. That's when we were doing a four-camera shoot in a theatre. Now? Eleven cameras, in a boxing ring, surrounded by 350 people. Holy!
So, I'm writing to beg of you a few things:
1. Bear Witness. If you are in LA on December 12, preorder right now and come watch what we really do believe will be literary history. If you're not in LA, but know someone who is? Please send them along.
2. Re-Kickstart Us. Through Kickstarter we raised $11,165 from 309 generous souls. We've raised $3,000 from three other independent sources/souls. After the Amazon/Kickstarter fees (a little over $1,000), we're now at $13,000. That's a ton of money, we know. But TV, we've discovered, is pricy as all get out. So, be our 313th supporter by buying a ticket or donating - we're going to be honoring our Kickstarter incentives to, umm, incentivize you.
3. Holiday LDM Gifts! When you order a ticket, you'll unlock the chance to buy LDM-branded awesomeness - stuff we ONLY sell at live shows. LDM coffee mugs (as seen below)? Check. LDM shot glasses? Yep. LDM flasks? You bet. Oh, and t-shirts, too! If you just want the goods, please donate $4 to cover shipping/packaging costs.
Lastly, if you're in London (November 29) or Glasgow (December 1), we hope to see you at our Pilot warm-up shows. Both will be a gas. Get tickets now, won't you, by clicking the images below.

Also, thank you for believing in LDM. We really do aim to change the perception of books, for the better, for a long, long time.
