I wrote Wounded Tiger a number of years ago. It is an Irish crime thriller set in the wake of the collapse of the Celtic Tiger. Now that the financial bubble has well and truly burst, some aspects of the book are fast becoming fact. 

In America fraudster Bernie Madoff was swiftly charged, tried and convicted. In Ireland, years further down the line, the sole person charged with any offence is the protester who parked a concrete truck outside the seat of government. The politicians were quick to condemn his protest as a disgrace, the same politicians who have brought Ireland to the brink of meltdown. Yes folks, they're still in power and being paid more than the US president.

Our premier is a drunk, our minister for finance has cancer. God Bless Ireland.
