After many long months of hard work we finally rolled out Red Room 2.0 with greatly improved performance, design, and scalability. I'm a World War II history buff and know a lot about Eisenhower, so when it was time to send an email encouraging my teammates about the rollout and the future of redroom.com, I immediately thought of Eisenhower's message on June 6, 1944 to the Allied troops before D-Day.
Here's the email I sent to the rest of the Red Room team:
"We are about to embark upon the Great Rollout, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world will be upon us. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies, we will bring about great changes in how content creators interact on the internet.
Your task has not been an easy one. But you have overcome all the obstacles that hacked Drupal code could throw your way.
We can all have full confidence in the courage and devotion to duty and skill in performing our duties related to this rollout. As we continue to iterate, we will accept nothing less than full Victory!
Good luck! And let us beseech the blessing of all the best intentions and hopes of all being upon this great and noble undertaking.
All the best,
Abe and Ivory"
After I sent it, Ivory suggested I base all my emails on famous war speeches.
