The Alchemy of Loss is frank, open and chatty and begs the reader to keep reading. The author does not gloss over the unpleasant parts, including times when she herself reacted badly. She tells a story of personal growth, victory over a desperate situation and hopes readers will not just see the grief, but also learn about parenting and marriage in tough situations, that loss can happen on all kinds of levels.
