It has been years since I started my journalism career. It was elementary days when I started using my pen not only to write down my teacher’s viewpoints; I used it also in believing that the pen is mightier than the sword.
High school days are when I became engorged to writing. In my senior year in my Alma Mater, Fiat Lux Academe I was appointed to be the Literary Editor of our school organ, Flambeau. This is also the year where I brought home bacons from different Journalism seminars and competitions I have joined, inside and even outside my school.
Awards that I brought home where Best in News Anchoring 2nd place for Municipal meet, as well as 9th placer on Feature Writing with the topic: Cory Aquino on Provincial meet.
When I entered sophomore year in college it was the only time I tried again to renew my passion in journalism. The Torch, the official publication of Philippine Normal University is where I started writing poems again, luckily I was admitted. There is also a time that I tried to get the position of News Editor for English, and I became a candidate for that.
I had the privilege to write different poems and articles in our school organ from elementary up to college, as well as have the knowledge on copywriting and editing. I also have the capability, the confidence and sociability when it comes to interviewing different types of people, be it celebs or non-celebs.
I wanted to join Red Room so that I can raise my knowledge and capabilities in writing, I can also contribute my little knowledge in the community.
