Here in America this is a day when we celebrate two of our greatest presidents, Washington and Lincoln, both of whom had birthdays during this month. It is a day most people probably ignore, or just enjoy as a day off with the benefit of great sales in the stores.  In my house, however, it is a day that we stop to recognize two tremendous people who shaped the course of history, for our nation, and the world.

It is also a day that we stop to reflect on the characteristics and the character these men possessed, the good and the bad, and see how these aspects of their being furthered their cause, and the cause of many.  They did what they believed was right, with honesty and integrity, and despite overwhelming odds. They were heroes, flawed as the rest of us, ordinary people that did extraordinary things.

Lastly it is a day that we reflect on ourselves, our characteristics, and how we can contribute to our nation, and to the world. Happy President's Day, All.
