The first mistake I made was in not thinking about keywords in my title. "Sardinia" plus another word would have caused the book to appear higher up in the Amazon list, alongside perhaps D. H. Lawrence's "Sea and Sardinia." More people are likely to look up "Sardinia" than "Sardinian." (My wife suggested, too late, "Sex and Sardinia"!) "Sardinian Silver" was the name of a wine, and had a symbolic importance--but then, I should have added as a subtitle "A Novel." Since the (very attractive) cover shows a wine bottle labelled "Sardinian Silver" a lot of people have assumed that it's a book about wine. Adding "A Novel" would have cleared this up.
