- I was so excited when I finally crossed the finish line all I wanted to do was post my beautiful purple winner's bar and eat a chocolate lava cake. But there was one thing missing.... Queen! I've paid my dues -Time after time -I've done my sentenceBut committed no crime -And bad mistakesI've made a fewI've had my share of sand kicked in my face -But I've come throughWe are the champions - my ...

- Wait... wrong fantasy....But I've got a shiny winner's badge!!!!And my novel had an inherently ridiculous title. It shall now and forever more (or until I change it) be called: The Novel about Geeks, Chinese Mafia, and One Twitter Ninja.I'm so happy to be basking in my glowing, beautiful, purple winner's bar. *sigh* I love NaNoWriMo!

- I'm getting close, so close I can taste the victory (and smell the fear). I was checking my Twitter feed this morning and one of my NaNoTwitMo friends (@chicklitgurrl) had a very interesting looking tweet that led to her blog -- which might I say, is sparkly and beautiful and very well written! And what to my wondering eyes did appear?Let's all just stare at it for a moment. Oooo, isn't it ...

- Yesterday, I went to do a little bit of writing at the local Starbucks. It's warm and cozy there, they have good sandwiches, and ample caffeinated drinks (which I need like I need a hole in my head). I sat down in a cushy purple arm chair, which I normally don't do. Normally, I take up residence at a table near the fireplace. I had to put my noveling on hold when I got up to get my Venti Espresso ...

- Hey WriMos!The guys down at NaNoHeadquarters have turned on the Mighty Word Count Validator a little early this year. When I discovered it (via a tweet from @melissaoyler) I ran right out, scrambled my novel, and pasted that sucker into the little box, held my breath and was disappoitned to find out that it stole 167 words from me!! ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN WORDS! They were precious words. ...

- Hi all you WriMos out there! It's the beginning of week 2, the time when all your wild and wooly plot problems will start to roar their ugly head. Chris Baty suggests that you don't try to suffer in silence for this week, it's much better if you get all your complaining out in the open.I recommend writing threatening letters to your characters when they get out of hand, your muse, or even your ...

- Dear Leonard:OK, I understand that you're shy and ashamed of everything that you've done in your life up to this point. Which is why I gave you an out and let Sanji take over for you. This was supposed to be your story, but if you want Sanji to steal all the glory, fine. Fine... whatever. But, what I simply cannot allow is for you to sit back and act like you have literally less personality than ...

- Today is the dawning of Day 3. I have yet to begin a writing session, but I'm starting off the day with:6212 wordsNot a bad prospect for the beginning of Day 3. But what I wanted to discuss more than my "epic" word count is my current character rebellion. Day1 and 2 have been really rocky. I've been particularly upset because my characters really aren't speaking to me that much. ...

- The time of reckless novel writing is almost upon us! Happy NaNoWriMo Eve!!!And on this spectacular eve, I'm having second thoughts about my novel; no thanks to my Inner Critic. Weeks ago I sent my Inner Editor on vacation in the Caribbean; Buccaneer's Creek - Martinique - Club Med, rather expensive $19,380.00 but well worth having him stand over my shoulder. It worked well last year so I ...
