- I discovered my favorite poem in high school French class: Déjeuner du matin by Jacques Prévert. I love the simplicity of this poem. I don't need to rely on a dictionary to read it, and the flowery language that characterizes most poems is completely stripped away so the story can shine through on its own. - Today, I finally finished the ending to my NaNoWriMo novel. My final word count is 76,654. It is 27 chapters long, and 260 paperback-sized pages. I'm amazed that I've even been able to put that many words together. Now that I have a rough draft finished, I'm going to take the advice of others and put it away for a month or two. - I wasn't sure that I was going to make it, but I slaved away today and wrote over 10,000 words to push me across the finish line! I cannot express how elated I feel at having accomplished my goal.
