Novelist and short story writer Christopher Meeks joins the Santa Monica College Literary Series with a reading and lecture entitled "The Pursuit of Truth in Writing Fiction" on Thursday, December 1 at 11:15 a.m. in lecture hall HSS 165. The event is free and open to the public.

Christopher Meeks's new novel, The Brightest Moon of the Century has received over two dozen reviews so far, including:

Meeks is the capstone for the fall's series, which begins on Septemeber 10 with Edgar-Award-winning author Naomi Hirihara examining clues to Los Angeles's history in the Mas Arai mysteries. That, too, is in HSS 165 at 11:15 a.m.

Novelist and Los Angeles Times writer Hector Tobar lectures on the history of social unrest in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 6, 11:15 a.m., followed by novelist and USC Distinguished Professor of English Percival Everett on Thusday, November 5, at 11:15 a.m.
