Those that have been following this site know of my disgust at the growing level of bigotry, anger, hatred and racism within our nation. The below article was taken directly from the “Southern Poverty Law Center” http://www.splcenter.org/. I urge those of you that are unfamiliar with their stellar work to take a look at their site.Within this site is contained a vast wealth of ...
Dorothy Gale and Me
When I was four years old, I lived, briefly, with my mother and stepfather, in a tiny house near Lake Merritt. It was a cottage with hardwood floors, painted pale blue. Coming, as I did, from the City, I was enchanted by the trellis covered in fragrant honeysuckle, and the bamboo in the yard that seemed to grow at least a foot every day. It was a short and magical time, a respite between scarier ...
SPR Review of Homefront
(written by Henry Baum):There’s something about discovering a great self-published novel that’s different from discovering a novel that’s traditionally published, no matter how small the press. On one hand, you’re happy to have found something good; on the other hand, you think, “Why did this have to be self-published?” Anyone who thinks that if a book is great it will find a ...

Falls the Shadows - a genre bending...
Note: I don't do a lot of book reviews any more, but I recently read a novel by first-time author Stephen O'Reilly, a New Englander with a twisted view of the world as reflected in the way he writes. The wind rushed into her still room, full of still objects, fingering her hair and engulfing all of her as if the cool air longed for her warmth, her existence.. Everything danced, the blouses were like they were worn by unseen spirits, the books flapped their papers in ecstasy, ...
Sequel
The sequel is finished. It took a slightly different turn than originally anticipated, but hopefully it'll be received as well as 'One Real McCoy' was. The usual suspects are still present, and ... that's all I intend to say about it! ;-)With luck it should be in print late this summer.Happy reading!
More True Love
I am back in Paris where life has been rather hectic, which explains the lack of posts. I am posting a photo that my friend François took on a trip to Huangshan a mountainous region of China. Here, engaged couples celebrate their eternal love by attaching a lock to the chains running up the mountain trails then toss the key into the ravine below. Perhaps there are other places where true love is ...
The kite flying!
The Kite flying! Though we plan things, contingency do arise and we reschedule things. Of recent on short notice I had to fight my own battle with life, this time a fight for life. I have been taking strain for the past of couple months in an intense scale, the end result of course was, my mechanism went on indefinite strike without notice. I was rushed to ICU, like on a vacation. Not ...
