Thanks for the link which just proves how individual writers are.

Many years ago, I read an article which claimed that writers stand a better chance of longevity than any other profession or way of life because exercising the brain, which presides over all other functions, is even more crucial than physical workouts and efficient circulation.

No conclusions were drawn about authors who have energetic dogs as well!

Thanks Blair and Rosy. One would hope that a writer's brain counts for some workout time.

And, Dale, I wasn't thinking about encouraging us to live to be 100, I was just linking it to an earlier piece I wrote where I equated the authoritarian pronouncements of writers (about how to write) with what people who live to be 100 say about their secret to longevity.

But now that you mention it, I think it's a great idea, as long as we keep writing. (Maybe even to 120 or more.)
