- Turkey, dressing, gravy, potatoes, everything for the meal was perfect! My son had gone to visit friends so it was just a girl's Thanksgiving affair--my mother, daughter, and me.Weather can be fickle here, hot or cold, never know. But an ice storm is not the norm. So with the ice coming down in slanting sheets and a howling wind, we planned to settle in before a glowing fire and watch one of ...

- While she was at finishing school, the Duke of Argyle's daughter ran off with the commoner MacNeill, who according to oral tradition, worked for the duke himself. The duke offered to give Malcolm MacNeill land to support his daughter as much as he could walk off in a day's time, but Malcolm was too proud. He paid for passage to the Carolinas where some of his family had settled, but the captain ...

- I'm pretty sure now that it was the chemicals the bug people used that gave me a respiratory infection. The mold remediator never came to look at the cellar, but someone who is a mold inspector said that they had looked at a home where the mold was mostly outside the home, which is natural. But the woman had had her home sprayed for fleas. The pesticide gave her a respiratory infection. Since I ...

- This is the way I feel when I read a book, like the pages, the words take me in their embrace and pull me into another world. And when it's a romance, I find the hero of my dreams. What's so wonderful about having so many stories to read is that the hero is always different from all the rest. So I get a whole ton of delicious heroes who do this to me--give me a warm embrace and hold me ...

- Yep, that's me. I had to work Saturday, and so I told everyone I could have everything done by Sunday--including making up a bear order, reviewing someone's 56 pages, catching up on my word count on Plight of the Wolf, lessons, newsletter, a newsletter article, and a guest blog.So let's see--bear halfway done. 56 pages not read not sure on the word count--can't remember what I should ...

- Fort Hood is just down the road from us. I was stationed there as a brand new 2LT. It wasn't my favorite assignment. At the time, there wasn't a mall, no theater, only x-rated theaters, pawn shops and well, it wasn't a great place for a single brand new female officer. But you felt pretty safe. I was the 1st Cav Div Safety Officer and reporting deaths to the headquarters was one of my jobs. We ...

- Talimena Scenic Drive, OklahomaIf I could, I'd love to live somewhere that we had seasons--like this. I've lived in places that had the most beautiful fall colors--New Jersey, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Colorado, Oregon, California and places that didn't--Florida and...*sigh* Texas. And yet I love the cooler mornings and still warm afternoons, the chance to wear something other than the usual ...

- Had the Bug man come out to figure out what to do about the carpenter ants in my house. He's coming on Friday to fumigate. He says they go in through the attic. I thought they came up from the ground. And I might have fire ants also. I have a ton of beetle bugs and other stuff too...hmm, I feel like I live out of doors! But the good news is I wrote my 1,000 words for yesterday! Now if I ...

- Wouldn't you love to have their energy first thing in the morning?I wonder what they have their sights set on. Or are they just out for a bit of sport? When you get up in the morning, do you just wing it? Or do you have a plan? Do you have a routine that you fall into day after day? Ever plan stuff and it's all thrown asunder by something else?Think if you were a wolf--eating, sleeping, ...

- I tried to log in, but can't. I tried having them send me my password. But they never do. I contacted them about their bug. No response. But that's okay. Setting writing goals is something I do anyway. And so yesterday, I wrote 4,000 words on Plight of the Wolf. I should have written more. It's my only day off until Friday, but I was setting up my Conflict class, finishing up lesson assignments ...

- Because of edits on Seduced by the Wolf and The Accidental Highland Hero, and my hard drive crashing, I got behind with my weekly/daily goal for Plight of the Wolf. I can't catch up on my lost weeks, but I still need to go forward with my personal goal of 7,000 per week. Although for this, I need to write 50,000. If I write that much, I will be nearly at my minimum goal for the story, and ...

- First, I wanted to say that these wolves were actually celebrating their first Halloween at Wolf Howl Animal Preserve and this was their first pumpkin. These are sisters and the one is showing the other how to tackle the big orange thing. :) But in the next picture, the wolf takes a big bite! And I wanted to share with you some beautiful pumpkin carvings. Afraid mine are pretty sad ...

- I wish my wolf could come with me to work today. He's perfectly cast against the fall foliage for this pre-Halloween post. And he'd definitely scare a few folks for the occasion, don't you think? It's Halloween for me today as I dress up in a contemporary hodgepodge version of a Renaissance/Medieval affair for work. We're really short on personnel at the library today. We usually are on ...
