Wait, did something happen to Michael Jackson?
Of course, I'm kidding. I know he's going on tour.
What? Something ELSE happened? Really?? I hadn't heard.
Well, this makes for a great distraction from Pelosi rushing through a vote on the 1200 page cap and tax program that Congress had a whole 24 hours to read and comment on. I mean, who's going to give a crap that their electricity bills are going to double and that everything...EVERYTHING...is going to go up in cost (remember, every industry from the farms that grow your food, to the truckers that transport it, to the stores that sell it produce carbon dioxide and will now have to pay for that CO2 production, incurring expenses they will pass on to you in the cost of the products you buy), while Michael Jackson's autopsy is being held?? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Nancy Pelosi killed Michael Jackson - no, no, she's just killing our economy, I'm just saying it provides her a fine distraction to pass a bill nobody has read that stands to make her millions of dollars from her stock holdings in a natural gas company that, by all accounts, should benefit greatly from this legislation. I think any time a politician in a position to get legislation rushed through says that legislation needs to be rushed through, it should automatically be stopped and investigated.
But hey, who are we to judge. We're only the American people. They are the government! The GOVERNMENT!! Please bow down and kiss the ring.
Besides, this is necessary. As I saw one liberal comment yesterday - "Republicans are repeating the tired lie that carbon dioxide causing Global Warming is a refuted idea."
Just another liberal trying to assert something that isn't true. There ARE many scientists who do not agree that climate change is man-made, that carbon dioxide is a pollutant, that global warming even exists, therefore the idea IS refuted. That is a fact. Therefore, saying it is refuted cannot be a 'tired lie'.
On a side note, I just found great satisfaction in the fact that by a simple switching of letters, Somali can be pronounced salami.
Look, do we need further proof that the Democrats don't care about you or me? Let's come back to the good old Garden State. Our Governor, Jon Corzine, who can best be described as aspiring to one day work his way back up to horse's ass status, has done nothing but hurt the taxpayers of this state, while pandering to his political cronies and state workers' unions. Our esteemed President said last week that Jon Corzine has done a fine job in New Jersey! Nothing is his fault (Corzine blamed NJ's bad economic situation on George Bush, Dick Cheney, and John Ashcroft)! He will easily win in November!
Obama doesn't give a rat's ass about what's good for NJ, he just cares that the Democrat wins. And I'm not saying that wouldn't be the same for any President, but what I'm saying is he's got you sold on the fact that he actually gives a shit about what happens to you. He doesn't. Politicians care only about re-election - staying in power - which is why smaller government is needed. The government needs to be out of our lives everywhere it CAN be out of our lives.
Of course, this will take something many people want no part of: personal responsibility.
Guess we can't have it all, huh?
Look, I leave you with this: Think back to the campaign. Remember how Obama promised no new taxes on anyone making under $250,000? Remember how everyone thought that was so great? Let me ask you something. Do people that make under $250,000 use electricity? Oh, they do? Do people making under $250,000 need healthcare? Oh, really?
Hmmm.
Considering both the cap and trade bill and the healthcare bill will impose new taxes on everyone who has healthcare and uses energy, maybe Obama's promise should have been, I will impose no new taxes on anyone making under $250,000 who doesn't need healthcare and doesn't use power of any kind.
Lucky Amish.
