Tagging Dropdowns Reveal Red Room Secret Identities

September 24, 2009, 12:48 pm

I was uploading some content elsewhere on Red Room just now, and wanted to add a tag. You've probably noticed that when you tag, a dropdown menu appears that suggests terms others have used that contain that word. Well, here's what dropped down when I typed woman:

A New Woman Returns
a younger woman
Anglo-Saxon noblewoman
armless woman
Batwoman
being a Japanese or Asian woman writer
Black Woman's HIV/AIDS Awareness Quiz
Cat Woman
Catwoman
crazy woman

Ivory chuckled when I mentioned these to her, since we both knew she was responsible for several of them. We also knew that this list represents some kind of subconscious expression of the kind of writing (funny, inspiring, serious, informative) our community shares, and that's something to smile about every day.

Speaking of tagging (our guidelines are here), I hope you're blogging on this week's topic "Saying Good-bye." (Some great entries have already been posted.) When you do, please make sure to tag your post with the term saying good-bye, and include the hyphen. That way, we editors can read it and consider it as one of the posts that will be featured in our Well Red Blog next week. Three featured bloggers will receive signed copies of Jacquelyn Mitchard's new novel, No Time to Wave Goodbye. (Jackie's chosen the less common, but not incorrect, spelling.)

Tag! You're it.

How very true. :)

I think that Gina and myself discuss what Red Room represents as a community, in so many ways, almost every other day. You have managed to create such a unique venue and community, it's one of the reasons that we both encourage as many people as possible to come here.

All I can say (OK, maybe not 'all' I can say) is, "Life without Red Room? Come on!! Be serious. What's all that about then?!"

Can't ever say Good-bye to Redroom, ever and neve!
By the way Hunt, Today was my presentation at School, on the topic Internet Adventure, and I introduced Education Global and Redroom to 100 teachers formally and told them what a great community it is; my favorite hang out! Made me feel so proud, talking about it. Thank you.

Sumathi, I'm so touched to hear that you spread the word about Red Room at your school. Being here can be an adventure, can't it? Bless you.
