where the writers are

MY FAVORITE BOOKSTORE

November 4, 2009, 7:40 pm

I was hoping this week's topic would be favortite BOOK,not bookstore! But,I cant really say I have one favorite,as I am drawn to any place that has books;the local library, goodwill, thrift shops, garage sales, even the library book fair held once a year! Its amazing what treasures I can find in these places.  Of course when I have run out of books to read and get desperate for a fix, then I will go to Borders and check out the bargain books first.sometimes,in desperation,I will pay full price, but since I belong to Borders rewards,I ussally get 30 to 40% off! My house is full of books, some of which I have read three times. My living room has floor to ceiling bookshelves, and both bedrooms and my office have full bookcases. I am never happier, more calm more secure, than when reading a good book.I step into the pages and am soon lost in another exciting world,in awe of some of the wonderful words read, characters developed, thoughts mirrored, sometimes laughing right out loud,or crying.

I cant imagine a world without books. And I dont want some kindle, either where I have to sit uncomfortabley at a computer, but rather a book to hold in my hands, that I can dog ear where I left off, looking forward to another journey into the lives of the characters another day. REad,lying in bed against my bolster pillow.

Even though this is about bookstores,I have to say my very favorite book was "Gone With The Wind" which I hid behind my math or social studies book in 8th grade in case my dad came up to check on me doing my homework.  I also remember putting a rug across the bottom of the door,so my dad would think I was asleep, whn really I was at TAra with Scarlett and Rhett.

"Frankly,my dear,I dont give a damn"

I still wonder if Rhett ever returned.

Scarlett might have pushed too far.  Like me.
