Even when you’re not physically writing, a writer is always writing, so stop beating yourself up for not writing, unless, of course, you’re always not writing, in which case, you may now go back to beating yourself up for not writing – and then, for goodness sake, start writing.

It’s OK to be bitter or resentful from time to time, briefly, but as with a long marriage, you need to still be able to see the good, falling in love over and over again, because otherwise, what’s the point?
