The rain is raining very hard, it rains on ships and trees...something like that. A Child's Garden of Verses comes to mind more frequently. Not long ago I took out my childhood copy, and was (mildly) surprised by the flavor of its dicta, punitive my daughter sniffed, not quite believing people...

Sunday is a newspaper with the Review section missing
and two black crows that taunt and strut
a heavy shroud
of coffee grinds spill in drunken swirls
and a clotted grey pashmina drapes the fields
defiant yellow screams in a pot by the door
as the gate swings open and shuts again
Muffled voices...

There is nothing to blog about. Nothing but the wind and the rain and the defiant Sumac tree as it braces itself against the gale. You will mellow soon Sumac tree and I will stand in the magical brink of late Fall and sip in your beauty and I will want to freeze frame your yellow and orange hues....
