In my novel Storm Chaser, the main characters aren’t all that different from standard romantic comedy leads (on the surface). Although I saved the characters until now, they were one of the first things I worked on once I came up with the basic idea for the story; after all, a well-defined character can lead a story in ways it might not otherwise go.
