Two big pairs of shoes are residing to the left of The Beanery's door as I enter, causing me to do a double take. Why are there shoes there? Where are the owners? Is this something new? Am I supposed to take my shoes off? Is there a sign anywhere? Other people seem to be wearing their shoes.
I've...

If you don’t wear stilettos and still get orgasms, then pat your back. You are the last hope of science. It’s funny that ‘science-ologists’ think such theories need to be debunked. The “year’s worst abuses against science” by celebrity offenders is the annual list that is part of the Sense About...

It's true, high-heeled shoes have been around for a long time and I suspect they will live on forever. Long after we are dead and buried or our ashes float down the river, there will be women (and men) wobbling around on high heels. They are horrible for your back but even the smartest of people...

I have a brand new pearly white pair of tennis shoes (or walking shoes or whatever they are) in my closet. I never wear them. I prefer the old pair, which look terrible but are so comfortable. They fit me perfectly and I slip into and out of them so easily.
I think maybe this is how I will feel...

Went shoe shopping with my spouse the past couple days. She likes DSW and subscribes to their newsletter. Zappos is another place high on her list.
I shopped for shoes for myself, something casual for winter walking. I walk a few miles every day so I go through shoes. My current winter walkers have...

I mentioned to my sister the other day about how I was buying new shoes for a writer's conference I am attending in Vegas this summer. Knowing my current financial state, she asked if I thought that was a good idea, because I had bought several new pairs of expensive shoes last year. I was kind of...

After blowing my own trumpet about how well Piwko’s Proof was selling at Sony Reader store, fate has tripped me up and the book has fallen out of the top 100. Down fifty places in three days. Well, it was nice while it lasted. On the plus side, some of my other titles are holding up very well.An...

I don't see the point of walking a mile in someone's shoes. You just have to walk a mile back and get your own shoes. So now you've walked two miles, you're back in the very same place, and your feet hurt.
And suppose while you're walking a mile in their shoes, they are walking a mile in yours....

If I sit still for long, my feet turn into Klondike bars or frozen turkey patties. One or the other, maybe a combination of a few frozen-food-section items. Cold. They're pretty unusable today; it has been cold and the wind chill has factored the air to colder yet. Winter is making itself known...
