I had given up on making New Year Resolutions years ago because I could never keep them going long enough. So instead, I began making goals. And this year is no exception. I made personal goals (which are personal) and others relating to my work. I came across a name for these and liked it....

We were surprised this past week to hear the familiar chirping of a Titmouse on the patio. After all, it has been very wintery with blustery rains and bitterly cold temperatures. Could this be one of a pair that has inhabited the same birdhouse in CiCi’s Garden for the past five years?...

I'm with Nin on this, but here's a little sampler for your pleasure. Happy New year, Red Room!  * "New Year's Day: Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual." - Mark Twain * "But can one still make...

New Year’s resolutions have never had much appeal for me. I find them vaguely annoying and Puritanical. I’ll lose weight, I’ll stop smoking, I’ll drink less, I’ll pay off my credit cards, I’ll clean my closets, I’ll exercise, I’ll exercise more, I’ll spend less time on Facebook, I’ll watch less TV...

A mantra is a sound, syllable, or group of words which, when recited, are regarded as capable of producing spiritual transformation (or so says Wiki).  Actually, mantra is a word common in the eastern world and is itself made up of two words: man meaning "mind," and tra meaning "...
