Since the end of November, I've been reading papers comparing and contrasting narrative elements in a variety of video games. Now that I'm done, I have the urge to...

Noises alerted the household that the beast was stirring in its lair.  All took the action they saw fit.  Hunkering as low as he could get, Quinn zigzagged through the house and out the pet door, not slowing or breathing until he'd established a few yards between himself and the house....

December 28   DON’T BITE    Desperation jumps up, runs around, then drops.  If I don’t feed it, desperation burns out fast.  I used to buy the advertising, the Horror, the Humanity.  The acorn falling on my head convinced me easily.  I grew this nut into terrifying despair never realizing if I had...

June 9   GULPING     The plug that lodges in my throat from too much, too fast, causes the anxiety to rise in me.  The panic fulls my contracting muscles into rock solid revolt.  'I can’t live' is the predictable result.  Gulping attention, acclaim, excitement, sex does the same thing.  My heart...
