It's my first NaNoWriMo.  When I first heard about it way back in March, I knew it was going to be a tall order.  After all, in March I was 32 weeks pregnant with twins.  It was going to be a busy year.  Would I actually surface in time for November, or would November be a blur of nappies and feeds...

current count . . . 32,654.  And it has come to my attention that although technically there are eight days left, given the pattern that has already emerged, realistically I personally have SIX days left.  Well then, I better get to it, eh?

Well here we go, the final week of NaNo and I'm only at 35k!  Considering the official winning starts in 3 days, I've really gotta put my nose to the grindstone.  I'm so close to finishing up, I can just taste it!  Oh, and here's the excerpt in my novel that I posted on the site.  It's probably my...

The end of the third week of NaNoWriMo is approaching, and I am terribly behind schedule.  I have been spending so much time thinking about what needs to happen in the rest of my novel, that I haven't actually had the time to write anything down.  I feel like I've made some progress today, however...

Well, you know that feeling you get when you've finally hit a breakthrough after running into a wall?  I do, and I love that feeling.  I guess I just had to be inspired to take this book to the next level.  I completely rewrote the first big fight scene in my novel and I am so happy with it, wow. ...

So I am changing direction of my NaNoWriMo 2008.  I was stuck for too long and couldn't make sense of where I was. So I stopped, changed gears and went in a different direction. I feel like I am making better progress.  Will I get to 50,000 words. Who cares!  What I am getting to is discipline and...

On Tuesday, I was confident that my novel was going great.  I'd been lagging, but managed to go from 22000 to 27000, even though I lost 1000 words on Write or Die.  No, I'm not crazy enough to try the Kamikaze mode, I accidentally closed the site and even though I clicked Copy to Clipboard, when I...

Yesterday, I went to do a little bit of writing at the local Starbucks. It's warm and cozy there, they have good sandwiches, and ample caffeinated drinks (which I need like I need a hole in my head). I sat down in a cushy purple arm chair, which I normally don't do. Normally, I take up residence at...
