“Be remembered for what you do next.” ~ Today I Will____:        Today I will…. be remembered as someone who is compassionate with the sacrifice and joy, and great responsibility that come with motherhood. I will share to all that I have more lessons to learn with being a better...

The girl's art projects. The boy's hospital bracelet when he got his first stitches. The costume she sewed for Halloween '08. The uniform he wore to win State Cups. These all have one thing in common: they're in the trash.    Yes, I'm that mom. The one who throws stuff away...

Summer vacation is coming to an end.  My daugthers go back to school this Monday.  Back to my scheduled, regimented world of homework, projects, school lunches, getting up at the crack of dawn driving to drop off and pick up. I am trying very hard to be enthusiatic and cheerful about the...

July 4, 2012 Happy Birthday, America! On the Fourth of July our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, forming what would become known as the land of the free and the home of the brave. We’ve pretty much lived up to that hype in most areas– politics, culture, reality television...

After nineteen loops around the sun, my parenting journey has included a lot of firsts.  Especially in these last few weeks, and while a better mother might never admit that she has a favorite child, an honest mother would snort at such bullshit, and top off my Pinot Noir.  For...
