And any list that includes Kafka is - of course - stellar. But these books do show what can be done - and done expertly - in relatively few pages. The longest is Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen at 182 pages. The shortest is The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka at 55 pages. So - jump in and read. [DE]...
