As I write this post, my wife and I are still patiently waiting for our son, Nolan Bailey Alderman, to be born. He's actually not due until August 26th, but it feels like we've been waiting for years for him to come out of there.
In the meantime, I've found something productive to do that...

The year was 1963. Ray, Alice, and their three month old baby, (Raymond Jr.) left Connecticut to spend Thanksgiving weekend in Vermont at Ray's Aunt Mary's house. Ray's grandmother was there and came to him telling him that this was the day he would never forget. She didn't know why, only...

The Oscar nominations were just announced, and I am delighted that Toy Story 3 was nominated, but disappointed that Julianne Moore wasn't. (Show As The World Turns' Frannie some love!) Yet I was also disappointed by the fact that one of my favorite movies wasn't nominated for Best Documentary....

Tony Blair mentioned in his autobiography that when he was Prime Minister he drank a stiff whisky or a gin & tonic before dinner. Followed by a few glasses of wine at dinner, or maybe half a bottle, Tony admitted. ‘So not excessively excessive’, he concluded. I think it must have been just that...

A friend of mine recently was working on something and she was truly jazzed about everything 2.0. Internet, democracy, capitalism; all the leaders of note were talking about the next thing, 2.0. They're realizing it's time to overhaul whatever it is that they do. Now, I think this is great, I'm all...

I recently put a very large smile on my 61-year-old sister-in-law's face when I called her and told her that her brother had left her $100,000. She has a beautiful complexion already, with only a few crow's feet suggesting a lifetime under the Southern California sun. When we went to the bank...

Since I owe my life to Hitler (being a war-bride baby) I have a fascination for the man and what he did. I imagine I'd be intrigued regardless. Other individuals have changed the world, but few so drastically. He seems to be both a genius and knowledgeable is how to manipulate the...
