I’ve had bangs for most of my life, except during the year when I turned 13. That’s when I grew them out and wore my hair in a ponytail because that’s what my best friend Toni did. Eventually, I determined that my forehead was too high, and I went back to wearing bangs. But lately I’ve decided I...

My daughter has possibly some of the most beautiful hair on the face of the planet.  She always has had.  It is thick, long, curly and is a coffee with cream color sporting beautiful natural golden highlights.   The problem with hair like this is that people want to touch it......

What is it about bald women that makes some men go wild and some men cringe in fear? Sigourney, Demi, Sinead, and Natalie all went bald, or as close as one can get without shaving, and they looked beautiful and hot. I guess when a woman is already beautiful and hot, going bald doesn't change...

[Reporting Live From Eva's Sink]   Their USA Coach gave them the brush-off, and now ... two hairs--one dark brown, one gray-- are vying for the gold in sinkchronized swimming. They race against each other toward the drain. Dark brown skids into a curly queue right before the metal....

A young woman, maybe in her early twenties, briskly passed outside The Beanery's window as I typed. I looked up and watched her swing...her pony tail. Pony tails are just so cool. They're a jaunty hair statement on men, women and children. I wish I could grow one. I've tried. I think I had the...

Today’s topic is hair. Hair is pretty important to most to us. We talk about our hair: bad hair days, flyaway hair, hair color, thinning hair, lack of hair, for many of us our hair is an integral part of who we are. Hair is part of what defines our personality. We devote an...

It feels like a lot of small things are whizzing through my mind this morning. Maybe I will eventually accept that this is true of most mornings and in some way, by stating it, committing the statement to the page—day in and day out—is my way of finding the door and maybe one day I won’t need that...

I woke up with bed head hair this morning. I probably do so every morning but some divine force made me look at myself in the mirror and discover my hair standing up like dancing partiers  frozen in a photo's stillness.  I briefly considered keeping it that way for the day. It was a fad,...
