I’m returning to this site after nearly a half-year off for a sweet relationship that morphed into what we both hope will be a lasting friendship. My prior online dating experience was much fun and very interesting, and I’m hoping this will be too. I’m touched by the way we keep showing up,...

Three boxes are stacked on the dining room table. Garnet Hill, it seems, has delivered Mere's Christmas present early. The familiar Amazon logo is on the middle box. At the bottom of the pile is the familiar red, white and blue of a large Express Mail package, dented and slightly torn.
I try to...

That's what my eye doctor said during my visit to her. My vision has gotten a little blurry with age. My grade is now two notches higher than it was just a year ago. She advises that bright light at close range will help ease the strain.

Dear Pot,
Right away I must beg forgiveness - it seems that we girls have our own versions of Boy Dumb. I'm quite guilty this morning.
Yesterday I shared the trials of my friend Jake, and of how Jake couldn't ask Cindy to join him at the gym. Sounds pretty basic, right?
Let's put a new twist on...

Please take a moment to read a piece very near and dear to me. It tells the tale of two friends who drift apart and come back together just in time. Thanks to Red Room and Gina for offering me this opportunity.
"I'm not sure why you stopped talking to me. It happened slowly, like rust. There was...

"Does cancer love or hate you?"
What kind of question is that? Cancer doesn't love or hate anything: it's like a shark, neither good nor bad, just a shark, doing what sharks do. Which is eat anything it can.
Cancer might have consumed comedy writer Will Reiser, had the disease not been detected...
