Yesterday was a perfectly fine day, and I went and let my mood buttons get the best of me. I've observed in myself these tendencies–they've been no secret to me for quite some time, too long, perhaps, since childhood, really. It doesn't make it any better. When my emotions are running rampant, more...

Noises alerted the household that the beast was stirring in its lair.  All took the action they saw fit.  Hunkering as low as he could get, Quinn zigzagged through the house and out the pet door, not slowing or breathing until he'd established a few yards between himself and the house....

Two boxes arrived for me this morning.  Danny Boyle sent them to me via Trance.  Trance is a psychological thriller.  Directed by Boyle, John Hodges and Joe Ahearne wrote the screenplay, it reminded me of Inception with its events within events style that renders you questioning...

The cawing was incessant. Crows don't irritate me; I've come to realise they are so utterly mediocre, so common, devoid of even the edginess that might make them irksome. Like pigeons sometimes do.  Crows are often spotted on cable wires or pecking at leftovers near garbage dumps or on balcony...

I love coral reefs.  A friend once gave me a gift of brain coral.  It sits on my shelves on a display tripod carved from driftwood. Coral reefs fascinate me.  Old, patiently building through time, they’re at once delicate and small, large and powerful.  If conditions change too...

Good Bye July, you mad month of miscommunication.  You know the after effects of this month will continue until about the 15th of August.   Marvellous, really marvellous.   July was still governing us to look at our insecurities and what truly makes us tick, but added to the mix, (...

Scheckter once weighed 21 pounds, leading a vet to proclaim, “He’s obese.” But I had acquired another vet’s advice to let him gain weight because cats lose weight so fast when they’re sick.  I’m pleased I followed that advice, since Scheckter now tips the scales at nine pounds.  Cancer...
