Received a rejection from one agent about the previous novel, continued editing and revising the other work in progress, covering another 68 pages. The whole thing is only 68,000 words, less than 220 pages, so I can finish the revising and ending in two more sessions, knock on wood.

“All my best thoughts were stolen by the ancients.”
―Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hmmm. What do I write? I have nothing to write. Everything has already been said. Every story has been told. Every new character has been created. There is not a romance or a mystery that hasn't...

Everyone knows that a bad girl is more interesting than a good girl because they stir up trouble by oversteping social boundaries. They either refuse to or are incapable of inhibiting their behavior to suit others. They want what they want when they want it.

Early in the story, one of the main characters, Ella, talks about how she loves her daily early morning walks with her best friend and...

Writers are often asked, "Where do you get your ideas?"
I believe most writers would answer the same as I do -- it's not a matter of coming up with ideas, it's a matter of weeding out the ideas and deciding which ones I really want to develop in a short story, a novel, or maybe even a series....

A writer doesn't solve problems. He allows them to emerge. ~ Friedrich Dürrenmatt ~
I really like this quote, about a sensibility you learn in writing classes, but I think it tells only half the story. Not ony must the problem...
