Uh-oh, I've created a monster! I'm sure my fellow writers will readily agree that we have multiple personalities when we write. Not only are we the writer, but we're also the characters we write. This isn't really surprising, but I just took on another persona, or should I say animal-ona (ok, that'...

When I got into this game, everyone told me (and don't make me explain who 'everyone' is) that I need a website so people can find out about my books. So I spring for a domain name and a host, then spend umpteen hours (and copious amounts of frustration) designing a site.  Next, 'everyone' tells me...

If all jobs paid $2 an hour, I’d still want to be a writer, because that’s what I do. But the simple fact is that $2-an-hour jobs are for teenagers who live at home and have their bills paid by their parents. Few responsible adults who pay their own bills can get by on $2 an hour, far less nothing...

Interesting to have a blog over here on Redroom as well as my "real" blog.  But assuming that there's the time to do all the typing, there are some things better talked about here than there. Like, blogging.  I'm sure much of the marketing lit for new writers says you should "have a...
