What a wonder is a writer who, after 400 years, is still plumbed to create an adaptation of his imagination and work. Great art is eternal. And I like the looks of the trailer, too. [DE]   * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Watch Joss Whedon Adapt William Shakespeare By Jason Boog   The...

Not bad for a fellow who was tone deaf and cared little for music.  I doubt the singing voice would fare any better for Kafka. However, he had a deep interest in theatre. Perhaps he would garner some appreciation for the words (most of which are his own). The text in this article is a first...

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16441066-john-carter-and-the-gods-of-... I've been reading this book and enjoying it almost as much as I enjoyed the film JOHN CARTER (OF MARS). I'd been waiting to see this movie since the 1970's when I was 12 and read Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom books for the...

My understanding is, when movies of books are made, or TV adaptations, the sales of those books are renewed and peak. So - the more the better. So what if no one remembers who gets the Academy Award for writing. If I win I know I will remember. {Oh - btw - I happen to have this wonderful screenplay...

And a nifty-sounding adaptation it is. It is a movie consisting of live-action pantomime, puppets and stop-motion animation.  Actually it sounds just right for The Metamorphosis, where the human protagonist awakes one morning as a giant vermin.  That demands puppets to me. And there will...

I am, however, happy to say that another author friend has a movie in the works!Keith Rommel asks: How often do you get a look at an independent writer's work being considered for a movie in California? The name of the novel...

Jane Austen. Who is Jane Austen I thought, as my faculty advisor recommended the course with enthusiasm? Her excitement about Jane Austen influenced my decision to register as an English African American female and English major. I knew nothing about Jane Austen; I had never heard of the...

Let's see if any living author could do this. After decades of having work by Kafka hidden in Israeli vaults, they are destined to come to light. Now, an adaptation of one of Kafka's stories - The Penal Colony - is being performed in Cairo. Sure, maybe it's coincidence, but I think Kafka stirs up...

Kafka has been adapted on stage, screen, video, gamer games, and in the comics. These adaptations encircle the globe. So why not devote a whole house to an absurdest interpretation of his work? And do it in Prague. And do it is Czech. And wear wigs in the process. And have the garden covered in...
