writer of poetry, fiction, nonfiction; performer, teacher, critic, producer of literary events, publisher, spoken word host, community advocate, idea consultant.
created Living Treasures project - raised funds and recruited editors in order to publish the works of four poetic elders; project was completed 2005 by Meridien PressWorks.
creator and host for three spoken word series in San Francisco between 1994 and 2004 -- the award-winning Celebration of the Word (ten years), Poetry at the Cosmo , and Word Dancing . The Word Dancing series was re-created in a new venue in 2007.
2008 - was a judge in the annual poetry contest sponsored by the Arizona State Poetry Society.
moderator for panel discussion on Banned and Recovered -- Artists Respond to Censorship, held at African American Museum and Library in Oakland CA in December 2008. Hanna Regev was the curator for the art exhibit in three venues -- Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland.
