Felicia Mitchell grew up in South Carolina and North Carolina and lived in Georgia and Texas prior to moving to Virginia in 1987 to take a job at Emory & Henry College.  She has lived and worked in rural Washington County since then, writing a column for the Washington County News since 2003.  Her poems and essays have been published in  journals, anthologies, and chapbooks.  What she likes to do with her time when she is not working or writing or dealing with family matters is  hike.
