It is impossible to live in Portland, Oregon and not mention Powell's City of Books. Old and new, used and untouched are all housed together. Everything to do with reading and writing comes together at one of the several locations. There is even a literary cat with his own blog and following.....if a Portlander wants to venture into the burbs, Annie Bloom's is every bit the comfort zone, not to be missed if you are in the vicinity.
